Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 28, 2026

1. Overview

PDFLeaf is designed to process files locally in your browser whenever possible. This policy explains what limited account, billing, and support data we may collect when you sign in, purchase access, or contact us.

2. Data we collect

When you use basic tools without an account, we do not require you to provide personal information to process files locally.

When you sign in or register, we may store your account email address, profile identifier, referral information, trial status, and paid access entitlement records.

When you purchase paid access, our payment provider processes payment details, taxes, receipts, and subscription billing as merchant of record. We may store purchase metadata needed to activate access and provide support, such as purchase email, order identifiers, subscription identifiers, plan code, status, and access dates.

When you actively use an AI editing feature, the relevant page or selected-area preview, your instruction, and the generated result are transmitted to our AI processing provider. Basic local tools do not send document content to the AI provider.

When you contact support, we may receive the information you include in your email, such as your email address, order ID, and the details of your request.

3. How we use data

We use account and billing records to create and secure your account, activate purchases, restore access, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and comply with legal or accounting obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your uploaded documents for advertising.

4. File processing and local storage

PDFLeaf processes files locally in your browser whenever the feature supports local execution.

Recent file records and workspace preferences may be stored in your browser storage, such as IndexedDB or localStorage, on your device.

You can clear local browser data from your device at any time through your browser settings or in-app controls where available.

5. Third-party services

We rely on selected service providers to operate the product. These include account services for authentication and account infrastructure, payment processors for payments and subscription billing, optional third-party sign-in providers, and fal.ai and its model providers for user-requested AI editing.

For AI editing, the provider may process the submitted preview, instruction, generated output, and related technical metadata under its own terms and retention practices. Do not submit highly sensitive content to AI editing unless you are authorized to share it with an external processor.

Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy commitments. We share only the information reasonably needed to deliver the related function.

6. Data retention

We keep account, entitlement, order, refund, and support records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, and comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations.

Local browser-side file traces remain on your device until you clear them.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect account and billing records. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to minimize unnecessary collection and exposure.

8. Your choices and rights

You may contact us to request account assistance, billing support, or deletion-related requests for server-side account records where applicable.

To cancel Monthly Pro renewals, email support@pdfleaf.com from the purchase email address and include your payment order ID or purchase email when possible.
